Call for Abstracts
On behalf of the Program Committee, we invite you to submit an abstract for presentation under the following Key Themes:
- Disease Management – Disease suppression, biocontrol, soil health and agrochemicals
- Pathogen Ecology – Importance in future climate and farming system scenarios
- Diagnostics – The changing face of pathogen diagnostics
- Biosecurity – On-farm biosecurity for new pathogens and quarantine in a borderless world
Requirements for Abstract Submission
Abstracts must be submitted by 5.00pm Monday 30 April 2018 Australian Central Standard Time (ACST). Late submissions will not be accepted.
Abstracts should be a maximum of two (2) A4 pages and follow the format below.

All abstracts for the ASDS 2018 (Invited and proffered papers, including poster papers) will be published in a common format in the ASDS 2018 e-Proceedings. Abstract format must follow the present example, and be submitted as an editable (.docx) electronic file. Include affiliations and postal addresses of all authors, and the e-mail address of the presenting author. Underline the presenting author’s name. Each abstract should briefly state the aims of the described research, the methods, the major results and principal conclusions. The body of the abstract (including title and author details) must not exceed two (2) A4 pages. The font is Calibri (italicise organism names). Font sizes are: 12 point (bold) for title; 9 point (bold) for author names, 9 point italic for addresses, and 9 point for the body text. The text is in single spaced lines with ‘normal’ character spacing.
Abstracts must include a three (3) dot point Summary - refer to the Extended Abstract example below.

All submitting authors will be notified of the results of the review of abstracts by early July 2018. The ASDS Organising Committee will determine the presentation format for each Paper, with due consideration of the presenting author’s preference.
It is a condition of acceptance that presenters (including co-presenters) be registered delegates who have paid the conference registration fee before 31 May 2018. Presentations will not be scheduled until registration payment has been received.
It is the responsibility of the presenting author to ensure that the abstract is submitted correctly and received by the event manager. The event manager will not be held responsible for abstract submissions not received.

To be selected to present you are required to submit an abstract via the website. All abstracts must be submitted electronically.

- Complete the online submission form
- Upload your abstract
EasyAbstracts will automatically append an ID number to your file name for identification.
How will I know that I have successfully uploaded my abstract?
Submitting an abstract involves two steps. Completion of the submission form and the upload of the abstract. Advice that your submission and file upload have been successful, will appear on your screen as "Your submission was saved successfully" and "The file was successfully uploaded".
